After Willem van Rhijn, the last miller, died in 1964 at the age of 87, De Valk became a municipal museum on June 2, 1966. In addition to the “Rhijn collection”, a large collection of mill attributes – which the “Vereniging De Hollandsche Molen” had recently acquired – formed the basis for the museum design. Over the years, the collection has been expanded regularly, including a horse mill in the outside area and various mill models, most of which have been donated.
